In the excavation campaigns 1998 and 1999 an important Megaron / Cult-building
was detected in the quadrats FG6 (adjacent to the Troia II - wall near gate FO ) with partially well preserved inventory.
Stratigraphy and radiocarbon-dating both result in an assignment to an early phase of Troia III.
Building substance and findings are so important for the chronology of the Troia II / III - levels ("treasure-horizons"),
that intensive efforts were made starting in 2000 to erect a suitable shelter roof additionally providing access
to visitors.

As a first step a protecting mudbrick-wall was built at the southern slanting flank, which also protects the adjacent
remains of the Troia II - wall, as well as a provisional roof.
